About Us

The Four Freshmen Society is recognized by Four Freshmen as its official fan club.

It's an international society which has a newsletter, Fresh News, published up to six times a year.

An annual Society convention is held in conjunction with the annual reunion of current and former members of the Four Freshmen.

Dues are $30 for singles or couples for the first year (US or worldwide) and thereafter $20 a year (or $15 a year if renewing for more than a year). Send name and address information (9-digit Zip code please), along with telephone, fax and e-mail information, to:

The current Society President/CEO is Thomas Purvis of Sandusky, Ohio.

The Society's Wisconsin State Representative is Mike McCoy of Madison, Wis.

FFS is a member of the American Federation of Jazz Societies, Inc.

Why We're Here

The Society's Articles of Incorporation state: "The purposes for which the corporation is formed are to provide an organization whereby the enthusiasts and devotees of the Four Freshmen singing group and the unique sound of Four Freshmen harmonies may meet to exchange ideas and insights; to educate the public on the Four Freshmen sound; to serve as a spokesperson for the genre; to promote the quality of life and show our appreciation for the number of persons who are alumni of the Four Freshmen musical group and to do all other things not prohibited by law that may be done by a non-profit corporation in furtherance of these purposes."

The bylaws add: "The Four Freshmen Society, Incorporated, a Not-for-Profit Corporation, has been established as an organization whereby enthusiasts and devotees of the Four Freshmen vocal group and the unique sound identified with the group may meet to exchange ideas and insights; to serve as a spokesperson for the genre and to educate the public on the entertainment contributions throughout the considerable history of this legendary group of jazz musicians."
