About Us
Madison SOS (Speak Out, Sister!) is a youth-led initiative uniting high school teen girls across the city in leadership and action. It's a place for girls to stand up and speak out on the issues that most matter to them.
Madison SOS hopes to keep working for years to come to build a city where teen girls are valued as active community stakeholders. Future plans include providing leadership development, training, and support for girls' groups interested in launching grassroots action projects, and launching an online forum connecting action-oriented young women across the city. To learn more about our work, please check out local news coverage, or download a press release (see link at left): To read an article in Dane101 on a forum organized by Madison SOS on women in community leadership and local politics, click here. Madison SOS is an entirely volunteer-powered organization that depends on the support of generous individuals and community organizations. Our partners and supporters include the Girl Scouts of Black Hawk Council, the United Way of Dane County, the Case Foundation, A Fund for Women, DoSomething.org, Mount Holyoke College, and Girls For A Change. |
