Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association - Blackhawk Chapter

The Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association (WWOA) Black Hawk Chapter was established in 1993. It is one of twelve chapters of the statewide WWOA which has over 2000 members. The chapter provides woodland owners information in the following ways:

• Spring and fall woodland field days
• Newsletter
• Annual meeting
• Statewide membership

• The chapter holds fall and spring field days, usually visiting chapter area forestry activities, such as invasive species. The chapter also goes to existing forestry sites of interest.



• Sends out a newsletter whenever our chapter has an event, which also includes forestry information that is applicable to the chapter area.



• An Annual Meeting is normally held in January or February. The annual meeting usually has a program that is of interest to the entire family. Past presentations were on Goose Pond, Trumpeter swan, the Timber Wolf and building a log cabin.



• All members of the chapter have to be a member of the statewide WWOA organization which provides a quarterly magazine to each member and holds a three day annual meeting. This meeting is held throughout the state every year.
