ABC's of Alzheimer's and Dementia

This three-part education series is for families of persons diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. It is designed to enhance your understanding of the disease, how it affects your loved one and how to effectively deal with it day-to-day.

Meeting of Minds

Meeting of Minds is an engaging program for people with early stage memory loss. It is designed to help group members maximize cognitive function and sustain quality of life. Specific activities include memory enhancement activities and intellectual exercises, tai chi-based exercise, and opportunities for creative expression. There is no fee. To participate, you must have a diagnosed case of mild memory impairment from your doctor. Assisting someone with dementia with personal cares can be stressful, frustrating, and embarrassing. However, it can also be a meaningful and special time that you share with someone you love. This training is designed to help family caregivers turn personal care tasks such as toileting, bathing, eating, and dressing into successful, safe, and meaningful activities. Learn techniques and strategies to improve communication, modify the environment, and adapt each task to increase success and decrease stress.
