Why is it called Angel's Wish?

05/11/2002

Why is it called "Angel's Wish?"

Lois Lawrence, one of the founding members of Angel's Wish, once rescued a kitten she named Angel. Angel was found at a construction site one very hot June day, weak with starvation, dehydration, and a severe upper respiratory infection. Angel could hardly breathe. Unfortunately, neither veterinary treatment nor the love and care of Lois could reverse the toll taken by days of starvation, unquenched thirst, and intense heat. Angel died that night in Lois' arms.

Angel's Wish is that no other animal endure the pain and suffering of such a life of abandonment and neglect. It is her wish that the human stewards of this earth work to support and preserve the precious life on this planet and that we strive to create a humane living environment for all animals.
