About Us
African Women's Association, Inc. (AWA)
AWA is an educational, charitable, and sociable organization of women in the Madison, Wisconsin area who are related to Africa by birth, marriage, or association.
Our goals are simple but powerful:
1. To extend and support our family so as to share experiences and address issues unique to African women.
2. To build bridges within Africa and with the rest of the world.
We meet on the third Saturday of the month at various members' houses or at community venues to share news, build community, plan future events and projects for AWA, and enjoy each other's company.
