'If My Child is Eligible, What Will It Cost Me?'
A Brief Review of the Parental Cost Share System.

The Parental Cost Share System means that parents of eligible children who are determined to be able will share in the cost of early intervention services for their child. This is called a Parental Cost Share.
The Parental Cost Share System is based on a partnership between the family and Dane County. These Cost Share funds will offset Dane County's cost of the early intervention services for a child that is eligible for the Birth to 3 Program.
To confirm a family's Cost Share, Dane County compares a family's gross income and family size to the appropriate table generated by the State Birth to 3 Program. (See this site's library.) The levels of Cost Share are based on percentages above federal poverty level guidelines. The range of Parental Cost Share is from $0 to a cap of $1,800 per year (monthly payments of $0 to $150 per month) for the term of a child's current Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Dane County and a family will determine how payments will be collected.
A Birth to 3 service coordinator, the family and Birth to 3 early interventists will develop an Individualized Family Service Plan. Note: The Cost Share is based on parental income and family size, not services. The numbers, types or frequency of services on the IFSP do not increase or decrease the Cost Share.
