Services we provide BLW Overview
The Bridge Lake Point Waunona Neighborhood Center (BLW) is a community-directed, non-profit organization with a divers funding base that promotes community building and partnerships, working cooperatively with local nonprofit and business organizations to make the best use of limited resources.

The mission of BLW is to be a gathering place and to provide services and programs for children, youth and adults of all ages. BLW strives to offer growth and enrichment opportunities that reflect the changing needs, strengths and diversity of the south Madison community. An additional focus is on services to the Latino community.

DSC00101 Activities to achieve the mission are administered with the assistance of public and private funds and the support of paid and volunteer staff in a safe and welcoming environment.

Children and youth from K-3 through grade 12 are served with after-school and summer programs that advance their academic endeavors and include use of computers, arts and crafts, physical activities, community service projects and field trips.

Sitting-down A number of adult and family activities are provided at the Center. Adult education is addressed by GED/HSED test preparation, ESL and computer classes. Center computers are open to the public and staff members are always available to help. A community food pantry is held each month. A coffee shop and lunch are offered weekly. Special events – such as a concert series, a resource fair, holiday celebrations, and family get-togethers – are held throughout the year. Meeting space is also provided for organizations such as Planned Parenthood, Joining Forces for Families, neighborhood groups and condo associations.

The BLW 50+ program serves seniors in the community with food, games, prizes, and other activities such as excursions and computer classes.

Haircut Class 1 The Latino Family Resource Center provides services to Latino families. The Los Niños Primero program provides Latino children, ages 3 to 5, with developmentally and culturally appropriate preparation for Kindergarten and long-term academic success.
