Family and Adult Programs

A number of adult and family activities are provided at the Center. Adult education is addressed by GED/HSED test preparation, ESL and computer classes. Center computers are open to the public and staff members are always available to help. A community food pantry is held each month. A coffee shop and lunch are offered weekly. Special events – such as a concert series, a resource fair, holiday celebrations, and family get-togethers – are held throughout the year. Meeting space is also provided for organizations such as Planned Parenthood, Joining Forces for Families, neighborhood groups and condo associations.

The BLW 50+ program serves seniors in the community with food, games, prizes, and other activities such as excursions and s computer classes.

Second Harvest Mobile Food Pantry

12:00pm-1:00pm third Wednesday of the month
Volunteers must arrive by 10:30

Food from the Second Harvest warehouse is trucked to the BLW Neighborhood Center on the third Wednesday of the month for immediate distribution to residents. The program provides additional food to those in need and gives Second Harvest a valuable channel to increase distribution of perishable food items to ensure that good food will not go to waste.

Volunteers are always welcome. To volunteer, come to the center on food pantry day by 10:30 (10:15 if this is your first time volunteering at BLW).
