Local dance group to participate in
Chicago's 2007 McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade.


Madison based Boliviamanta Dance Group has joined Chicago based Renacer Boliviano Dance Troupe to present the traditional Bolivian dance "Tinkus" as part of the roster of more than 100 units in this year's McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade which steps off at 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 22, marching north along Chicago's historic State Street from Congress to Randolph.

Boliviamanta and Renacer Boliviano will be among 30 specialty units along with the Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy from New York City will make its Chicago parade debut, marching alongside familiar standouts such as the AmeriCheer All-American Spirit Team, Chicago Human Rhythm Project, Hromovytsia Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, the South Shore Drill Team and the Jesse White Tumblers, leading up to the official Chicago arrival of Santa Claus.

On September 25, 2007, WGN-TV and Chicago Festival Association announced that the station will broadcast the McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade live and in high definition on WGN-TV9 and WGN-DT 9.1 on Thursday, November 22 from 9-11am CT.

Superstation WGN, which is available in approximately 72 million cable homes, will air the parade nationally. The McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago is one of only three parades in the country to be covered live, in its entirety, on a national television broadcast. WGN-TV will also stream the entire parade live on wgntv.com.

This year's parade will also feature flocks of festive floats, an over-the- top opening by the stars of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey, Gigantic helium balloons, high-stepping marching bands, majestic equestrian troupes, fabulous holiday floats, performance groups, national celebrities and local personalities.
