Moffat and Linder take oath of office

Ed Moffat took the oath of office as elected Commander for Flotilla 9-10 at the Division Change of Watch held 21 January. Moffat is a senior member of the Auxiliary, and has held Auxiliary elected posts up to and including Division Captain. He has also served in numerous Flotilla and Division appointed Staff Officer positions.

"Flotillas are the incubator of the Coast Guard Auxiliary", said Moffat. "I look forward to welcoming the men and women in Madison and the surrounding area into the Coast Guard Auxiliary this year, and helping create better informed and safer boaters on our area waterways."

John Linder, immediate Past Flotilla Commander of 9-10 took the oath of office as Vice Flotilla Commander.

On the Division level, Sharon Stamm was inducted as Division Captain, and Bob Redenius took the oath of office as Vice Captain.

Moffat, Linder, and Stamm are all from Madison, and Redenius is headquartered in Janesville.

The main speaker for the Change of Watch evening was U. S. Coast Guard Captain Bruce Jones, who was in command of the Coast Guard rescue effort during Katrina, and where 33,000 people were rescued by Coast Guard personnel.
