A CAPITOL CHORDSMEN HOLIDAY "MEGA-QUARTET" caroled up and down State Street Dec. 20 – the last before Christmas – to extend seasons' greetings in song to shoppers, families, and visitors.

A mega-quartet is one that is composed of more than the four members in a quartet and fewer than the 25 or so who comprise the Capitol Chordsmen Chorus.

The group began performing at 1 p.m. in the lobby of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, 227 State Street, under the sponsorship of the Madison Central Business Improvement District.

From there until 3 p.m., the Chordsmen wandered in song up and down State Street and in and out of various venues. We also hopped aboard the free downtown Trolley, which serves State Street and Capitol Square, to entertain passengers.
