The Barbershopper of the Year Award honors a Madison Chapter member for outstanding contributions to the preservation and encouragement of barbershop harmony, as determined by the previous recipients. Here's a complete list of recipients of this award in the modern era of the Madison Chapter, the sponsor of the Capitol Chordsmen Chorus. Dave Hutchinson, 2007 Note: Years shown identify the most recent full activity year, with the award usually presented in January of the following year. CRITERIA Written criteria governing this award were adopted by the Chapter Board in 2007. Key excerpts: "The Barbershopper of the Year Award shall be given to that BHS member in the Madison Chapter who has made a significant contribution to barbershop harmony advancement and who previously has not received this award in the previous 10 years. "The award may recognize accomplishment for one or multiple years of service, at the discretion of the judges. "Judges shall be all current BHS members in the Madison Chapter who previously have received the award." |
