Many moons ago, two little brothers -- Paul and Mike Reedy -- grew up in a barbershop family in Gresham, Wis. With a father as a music teacher, the boys learned to love barbershop harmony. After growing up, serving their country, going to college, and embarking on careers in separate cities, they embarked on a journey to find the perfect tenor and baritone to complete the ultimate quartet. After much searching and testing, Paul (who sings lead) and Mike (a bass) finally found two men who would sing with them. Roger Rowell (tenor) has sung, coached, directed, and judged chorus and quartets throughout the world. He's also an original member of the Sound Factory quartet which has performed for over 25 years in the Madison area and beyond. Rick Chapman (baritone), the neophyte, discovered barbershopping after many years of treading the boards in community theatre. They hail from Madison, Stoughton, Sun Prairie and Milwaukee and collectively have 75 years of barbershopping experience. Calling themselves STATE STREET, the quartet had its public debut on stage April 13, 2002, when the Capitol Chordsmen Chorus held its annual spring show. They had immediate success as they placed in the Top 20 quartets at the Land O' Lakes District Competition in Fargo, N.D., in the fall of 2002.
