On July 10th, 1996, the Carpenter-Ridgeway Neighborhood Association was established, and in years since, it has become one of the most recognized, involved, and respected neighborhood associations in the City of Madison.
Priorities Include:
Improve the appearance of East Washington
Avenue.
Improve and preserve natural areas and open space settings.
Develop neighborhood-oriented shopping nodes that Host pedestrian-friendly businesses.
Reduce traffic volumes and speeding on major corridors and residential streets to enhance pedestrian safety.
Develop pedestrian and bicycle networks that improve safety and connections between neighborhoods and frequently traveled Locations.
Maintain older housing stock.
