The mission of Children's Service Society of Wisconsin is to build, sustain and enhance a nurturing environment for Wisconsin children.

Our Vision

During 2000 and 2001, Children's Service Society of Wisconsin initiated a strategic planning process that examined the changes in the child welfare movement, the changes in our society and the commitment needed to assist our children as we move toward the future. The child welfare system around the state has changed dramatically over the past five years. Private, non-profit and community-based organizations, as well as for-profit companies, are now providing many services that had been provided by public institutions. There are more changes to come, and CSSW, through its leadership role, is working towards those changes to ensure the safety and well being of all of Wisconsin's children.

CSSW is at the forefront of discussions about change within the child welfare system in order to advocate for and ensure the well being of children. Our goal is to be recognized as a "voice" for children and families, and as a leader in shaping services to meet the needs of children in our state. We have developed and maintained collaborative programming with the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, local units of government, private non-profits, schools and community-based organizations providing services for children and their families.
