DeForest Area Historical Society

The mission of the society is to preserve and honor the heritage of the DeForest area and provide materials about local history to patrons.

The society relies on a group of dedicated volunteers from the area who have an abiding interest in local history.

The Society is responsibile for interpreting and/or maintaining four sites:

1. Hansen-Newell-Bennett House Museum

2. DeForest Railroad Depot
   (215 Market St.)
3. Lyster House
   (201 DeForest St.)
4. Society Office and Archives
   (203 Library St.)
