Eastmorland Neighborhood Social & Playground Fundraiser held August 2008

ECA held a well-attended Root Beer Float Social and Eastmorland Playground Fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 16, 1 - 4 p.m., at the Eastmorland Park Shelter. Attendees enjoyed complimentary hot dogs, chips & root beer floats and got close-up views of a fire engine and police car. Materials were also distributed on neighborhood safety.

Donations to the playground were accepted and many thanks to all those who contributed. The fundraising is continuing this year through December 2009. If you wish to contribute, you can send donations directly to The Madison Parks Foundation, Inc. Write on the check's memo line "Eastmorland Park Playground" and mail to:
The Madison Parks Foundation, Inc.
215 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Suite 120
Madison, WI 53703

All donations are tax-deductible. If you send a check, watch for a receipt in the mail. The "People for Parks" program will match every donation received through the new extended deadline of December 2009. All support is deeply appreciated and directly benefits the neighborhood.

ECA celebrates 50 years, publishes Commemorative Directory

The year 2007 marked the Eastmorland Community Association's 50th anniversary. To celebrate, ECA published a 50th Anniversary Commemorative Directory, which was funded in part by the City of Madison Neighborhood Grants Program.

The publication features ECA photos and history, a neighborhood phone directory, complete 2004 neighborhood survey results, and more. If you would like a copy, please contact Patrick Soukup for details.

A 50th anniversary celebration was held Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Eastmorland Park. The celebration was also a ribbon cutting for NEW Eastmorland Park playground equipment. Thank you to all who attended for making it such a fun and memorable event. Also, thanks to everyone who donated to the playground equipment, a wonderful and much-appreciated gift to the neighborhood and future generations of children!
