About Us
What does the Fair Housing Center of Greater Madison do?
The Fair Housing Center of Greater Madison is a satellite office of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council (MMFHC). In operation since 1977, MMFHC is a private, non-profit civil rights enforcement agency. Its mission is to promote fair housing by guaranteeing all people equal access to housing opportunities and by creating and maintaing racially and economically integrated housing patterns throughout the State of Wisconsin. The Fair Housing Center of Greater Madison serves Dane and Rock Counties and conducts some out-of-service area activities. In addition to operating the Fair Housing Center of Greater Madison, MMFHC serves Northeast Wisconsin through a satellite office in Appleton, the Fair Housing Center of Northeast Wisconsin. The Fair Housing Center of Greater Madison is a member of Community Shares of Wisconsin.
