Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra featuring Sir James Galway

In a special 50th anniversary celebration, Sir James Galway is welcomed back as soloist, in Ibert's sparkling Flute Concerto, as well as Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 for two flutes and violin, joined by with his wife, Lady Jeanne Galway and concertmaster, Suzanne Beia. Aaron Copland's masterful Three Latin American Sketches are quirky and fun, inspired by his journeys abroad. Stravinsky's Pulcinella highlights the chamber orchestra as they mark their 50th anniversary. See here for information.

University of Wisconsin-Platteville Special Guests: The Chris Norman Ensemble featuring Chris Norman
A master class with Chris Norman will be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by a concert at 3:00 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall.
Tickets will be available for purchase online and at the UW-Platteville ticket office at a later date.

Classes include rehearsals and technique classes taught by Blue Lake faculty, Stephanie Purvis. Average to experienced flutists are welcome. In addition to C flutes, campers are encouraged to bring alto and bass flutes and ensemble literature. Quality flute choir literature will be read, rehearsed and performed. The 6th annual Wisconsin Flute Festival is a day-long event that includes vendor exhibits, High School and Master Class Competitions, presentations, and performances of interest to beginners and professional flutists. A finale concert will be held at 7:30 pm, First Unitarian Society, Historic Auditorium 900 University Bay Drive, Madison.
