Friendship Force International

WHAT IS THE FRIENDSHIP FORCE?

The Friendship Force is a non-profit international citizens exchange, not affiliated with any religious, political or government group that promotes cultural understanding through personal contacts. Home stays of individuals and families build friendships, increase understanding of other cultures, enrich relationships, and increase opportunities for world peace and cooperation.

We're ordinary people who believe we can make a difference by making friends with people of other nations, one friendship at a time. We believe that having people from other countries staying in our homes, sharing life-styles and living with families from other lands for one or two weeks can break down barriers that divide us, dispelling fears of the unknown.

WHAT DO FRIENDSHIP FORCE MEMBERS DO?

  • We visit other countries on "EXCHANGES" as "AMBASSADORS" in homes Friendship Force members. We join in their day-to-day activities as well as in special Friendship Force events.
  • We host foreign "Ambassadors" in our homes, usually for one week. We share our life-styles, visit local sights, and attend activities.
  • Members who are unable to host for a week can still become involved by day hosting.
  • "Bridge Builder" exchanges provide opportunities for members to share their expertise in countries needing assistance. Some past groups have included teachers, doctors, lawyers, gardeners and choir members.
  • We attend Friendship Force festivals and conferences all over the world.
  • We make friends at home attending Friendship Force functions.
