Supported Employment Program Supported Employment is a nationally recognized approach to helping people with disabilities find and maintain employment. When you hire an employee from Goodwill?s Supported Employment Program it?s a win-win situation. You help individuals attain their goals of independence, and you have the employee you?ve been looking for. Co-Employment Services Goodwill's Co-Employment Services are designed to provide persons with disabilities, who live independently, the option to locate, hire, train and supervise their own support workers. As a co-employer, Goodwill handles some of the employer-related duties such as recruitment, interviewing and legal issues and documentation. To obtain more information about our Supported Employment or Co-Employment programs, contact Barb Caswell, Director of Vocational Services at 608-246-3140, ext. 125.
Goodwill Industries of South Central Wisconsin, Inc. has operated a residential program since 1977. We manage several licensed group homes for people with some type of serious and persistent mental illness. Goodwill contracts with counties to provide intensive support and assistance to adults living in our residential settings. Supportive Apartment Living Unfortunately, people with limited incomes have had few housing choices. This is especially true for those trying to live on Social Security or SSI. Goodwill has successfully accessed federal funding in order to develop independent apartments for senior citizens and people with disabilities and other special needs. These apartments are subsidized by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). With this subsidy, tenants pay one third (1/3) of their income for rent to live in these quality apartments. Each apartment building has an on-site property manager who is available to help support each tenant in a variety of ways. To obtain more information about Goodwill Residential Services, contact Mary Grabot, Director of Residential Services at 608-246-3140, ext. 141.
Goodwill Industries has established a Community Connections Program (CCP) to respond to emergency needs for household furnishings and clothing for individuals living in our community. Due to limited resources, Goodwill makes the decision to provide assistance to individuals in crisis on an individual basis in keeping with our mission. If you, or someone you know, is in need of assistance, please call 608-246-3140, or stop at one of our store locations to request a CCP Application. |
