Become a Site Host
Site Hosting is a great way to volunteer on the construction site without doing the construction. Site Host hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Site hosts help construction volunteers register, gather water for worksites, prepare coffee break, greet lunch providers, and do general organization and clean up on the worksite. Site hosts always work with a partner. Site hosts are an integral part of the construction day if you are interested in becoming a site host please call 608) 255-1549 or volunteer@habitatdane.org.

Become an Homeownership Mentor!

The transition from renting to homeownership can be intimidating. To help future Habitat homeowners, HFHDC developed the Homeownership Mentor Program to work one-on-one and provide support and guidance for families as they build their home. This one-on-one relationship is an effective way to support the family and is often an empowering one for the family being mentored.

HFHDC is now in need of Homeownership Mentors. These volunteers should expect to commit about five hours a month to work with their Habitat family during the six-month building process and the year after the build. A willingness to work in an educational and non-judgmental manner is a plus. To read how the program made a difference for one Homeownership Mentor, go to www.habitatdane.org. To learn more, contact Perry Ecton at pecton@habitatdane.org or 255-1549, ext. 103.
