You or your family members may be interested in learning Italian or improving your skills.

  1. Italian language and culture (Back to Basics Italian and Beginning 1) - instructor Janet Wood, classes at West High School in Madison. Register through the UW Madison Continuing Education Department. Price is $109 for Back to Basics Italian and Beginning 1. (Note: IAWC will reimburse its members $40/class for those members who complete each class.)
  2. Italian language and culture classes (adults all levels, and children's classes) - instructors vary, classes held at the Italian Workmen's Club at 914 Regent Street, Madison. Sponsorship and registration is by WisItalia. See the registration flyer for more information. Prices vary, but it is $65 for IWC and IAWC members.
  3. Italian classes at MATC - location varies by classes. See the MATC website for more information on Italian 1, Italian for Travel and Italian 2 (select the Italian courses, Italian 1 and Italian 2 for times and dates). Prices vary from $29.43 to $67.57 depending on the class.
  4. Learn Italian in Italy - Centro Giacomo Puccini is an Italian language school for foreigners, located in Viareggio, Tuscany, Italy, at the seaside, visit http://www.centropuccini.it.

    Centro Giacomo Puccini is a member of ASILS (Association of Schools of Italian as a Second Language) and of ELITE (Excellent Language Institutions Teaching in Europe): members of ELITE are English schools of ARELS, German schools of IQ, SOUFFLE French schools of France, Spanish schools of AEEA and Italian schools of ASILS). They are recognized by the Italian Ministry of education. US Credits earned at the Centro Giacomo Puccini are widely accepted by most U.S. Colleges and Universities. Credit is usually earned by 1 credit hour for each 15-20 classroom hours. Some institutions grant extra credit for cultural experience or for projects such as critical thinking papers.
