Brittany Delahanty At the age of 8, Brittany started taking Italian lessons from Giovanna at the Italian Workmen's club. A few years later, she joined an Italian folk dancing class. As a sophomore in High school, she spent a year in (Venetico) a small and closely-knit Sicilian village on the seaside. Brittany stated that through her year abroad in Sicily, her experience with local individuals of Italian heritage, she became fascinated with the Italian mindset. She learned to cherish her family on a deeper level and has grown more compassionate towards others. Her host family taught her to work hard but appreciate free time. Brittany plans to attend the UW Milwaukee to study Italian language and business for 2 years, and then transfer to University of Minnesota, Twin Cities to study International business and Italian language. One of Brittany's former teachers stated that she has an outstanding work ethic and also has the ability to work through difficult problems with limited help.
Kylie Denk Kylie plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison possibly in the business or communications field. Having a family, good education and having people appreciate what you do are qualities demonstrated through Italian culture. A supportive and strong family is very important to Kylie and states that the Italian culture is built on strong relationships and welcoming traditions which she hopes to share with her family some day. One of Kylie's teachers stated that she is outstanding academically, athletically, and as a productive individual in the school and community.
Angela Infusino-Braun Angela is planning to attend the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities to study Public Relations in the College of Liberal Arts. Her mother and aunts have always placed a great emphasis on her heritage and where her grandparents came from, which has made her appreciate her Italian roots. A family tradition of spending a day baking cudduraci for Easter and zeppole for Christmas, she intents to past on to her children to preserve these Italian traditions for her generations. One of Angela's teachers stated that with her strong sense of family values and work ethic that she demonstrates in her daily life, she will be a success in all future endeavors in her lifetime.
Angela Wersal Angela would like to own her own veterinary clinic and plans to attend college at Utah State University. After participating in a mission trip to the Dominican Republic, Angela has set her goal to try her hardest in school and complete the years it takes to be a vet, so that someday she will be making a difference not only in people's lives but in the lives of animals too. Her mother is Italian and her grandma's parents moved here from Italy. Angela is interested in dealing with abused or neglected animals in Italy. One of Angela's teachers stated that dedicated, responsible and enthusiastic are three words that describe Angie. |
