Scholarship money

Each year, the IAWC awards scholarships to Dane County seniors who intend to pursue higher education. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, community involvement, personal recommendations and an essay that describes the student's interest in Italian.

Eligibility and Criteria

This year, the Italian-American Women's Club of Madison awarded four scholarships (three in the amount of $1,000 each, and one in the amount of $500). To be eligible, you did not need to be Italian to apply. Each applicant must have met the following criteria:

• Was a senior (male or female) in a Dane County high school;
• Intended to enroll in a course of at least two years duration at a college, university or technical school;
• Intended to enroll as a full-time student;
• Be interested in Italian culture; and
• Must have submited application materials by the deadline (Monday, April 16, 2007).

All four winners are accomplished students and leaders in their communities.

Our club plans to honor the awarded students at Festa Italia in Fitchburg McKee Park on Sunday, June 1, 2008. We hope you'll join us!
