TIME LINE FOR JOINT VENTURE BETWEEN PLAYWRIGHTS INK AND PHI BETA
SUBMISSION OF PLAYS: Plays should be submitted by August 15, 2007
- Submit to: Sarah Whelan Blake (contact info available on request)
- Restrictions: Plays submitted must be able to be produced with minimal sets
- Plays can be short (10 minutes), 1 act (up to 1 hour), or full length
- There is no specific theme
SELECTION OF PLAYS: Play or plays to be selected by September 15, 2007
- Plays selected by a committee consisting of 2 Phi Betas and 1 Playwrights Ink rep. Probably Sarah Whelan Blake, Betty Diamond, Mary S. Gill.
- If no play or plays can be selected then the work shop process will begin on all or selected plays (depending on the number submitted). If after the work shop process a play is selected, then the process will begin toward a full performance.
WORK SHOP PROCESS:
- First informal reading of play or plays: casting: September 20, Reading Sunday September 23, 2007, 2PM Critique and discussion
- Rewrite September 24-October October 3
- Second informal reading: Sunday October 7, 2007 7PM; critique and discussion
- Rewrite if needed October 8-12
- Third and final informal reading: Sunday October 14, 7PM. Critique and discussion and decision to move forward to Staged reading
STAGED READING: Sunday October 28, 2007 with critique and discussion
- Further rewrites in preparation of full performance if decision is made to move forward.
- Casting for full performance October 29 and 30
- Rehearsals October 31 - November 14, 2007
- Performances: Thurs November 15, Fri November 16, Sat November 17, 2007
