LIGHTHOUSE CHURCH HISTORY

LIGHTHOUSE CHURCH HISTORY

Lighthouse Church was established in Madison, Wisconsin in 1982 as Last Days Praise Center. In 1988, the church building at 5202 Regent Street was purchased. An addition to the original building was completed in 1989 which increased the capacity of the sanctuary. In 1992 the church name was changed to Lighthouse Church. Lighthouse Church joined Church On the Rock International in 1995 because Pastor Schultz has a strong belief in accountability, unity and fellowship among believers and in leadership.

Steven R. Schultz

Pastor Steven Schultz is 55 years old. He has been in ministry since 1989. He spent two and a half years as Associate Pastor at Last Days Praise Center in Madison, Wisconsin. He then went to Nairobi, Kenya where he and his wife, Mary, planted a church. They were in Kenya for two years and then they were called back to Madison, where he is now the pastor of Lighthouse Church. Pastor Steven is a member of the General Council of Church on the Rock International and Church on the Rock Regional Director for the North Central Eastern Region.

Pastor Steven and Mary have been married for 38 years and have five children, Becky, 37; Jenny, 34; Lance 32; Dayana, 13; and Harley, 12 . They also have ten grandchildren. Pastor Steven has a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Education, a Masters Degree in Christian Psychology, and a Doctorate in Theology from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.

Since their return to Madison in November, 1993; Pastor Steven has had a vision to reach out to the foreigners and aliens in the city. As a result, many people from Central and South America as well as families from Africa have become members of Lighthouse Church. Lighthouse Church currently has members from 30 different nations. It is our desire to remain a multicultural and bilingual fellowship of believers learning from one another as we grow in our relationships with God and with each other. Many of the church services are in both English and Spanish.

The church that Pastor Steven planted in Kenya is thriving and is part of Church on the Rock, International under the oversight of David Hatley. Pastor Steven has a vision for missions and a strong belief that Lighthouse Church will have the opportunity to plant churches all over the world.
