About Us

MISSION
The mission of the Wisconsin Lyme Resource Group (WLRG)is to:
provide information and education to individuals and groups about Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses;
provide support to individuals, and families and friends of individuals, who are affected by these diseases;
provide advocacy for individuals who are affected by these diseases.

MEETINGS
WLRG holds 6 meetings annually free and open to the public.
Meetings are held in the odd numbered months on the second Wednesday from 7 to 9PM at Meriter-Park Hospital.

SPEAKERS
Ocasionally, speakers are available to speak to community groups about prevention, recognition and other aspects of Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.

DISCLAIMER
WLRG does not provide medical advice. We urge individuals with health concerns to contact a health care provider of their choice for diagnosis and treatment that is in line with their health beliefs. While any individual from the group may express personal views on what constitutes appropriate health care, the group does not recommend or endorse any particular type of treatment, health care or health care providers.

Additionally, this group maintains no bias for either conventional western medical care or any alternative medicine modalities. This group has adopted a "no-bias/non-judgemental" stance toward all treatment choices. We respect the rights of all individuals to make health care choices based on their health beliefs.
We base this determination on the facts that: many patients, seriously ill with tickborne disease, have recovered significant amounts of functionality by combining therapies from conventional and alternative medicine; and individuals have been found to respond differently to standardized treatment regimens. It seems that each patient must seek the treatment(s) that are most helpful to them.
