President's Message MACAW 2006/2007

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting with us today! I'm excited that you are here and hope that you will consider joining MACAW and becoming a member. You are also welcome to visit us at any of our monthly meetings. If you have birds, care about birds, want to learn more about birds, want to help birds, MACAW can help you.

Twenty years ago a few people with interests in birds started MACAW. They did this to share ideas and help educate themselves and the community on improving the welfare of all birds. Twenty years later, MACAW continues this mission. Yes, MACAW is a larger club now, but it retains that same personal touch and one on one attention to the issues at hand. MACAW is dedicated to helping people just like you, who own birds, to understand them better, know what foods to feed them, can teach you how to give your birds the love and attention they need for them to remain happy, and to offer you suggestions on behavior and health issues. For 20 years MACAW has helped the avian community through education, externships and financial support to hundreds of worthy avian causes, including the Dane County Humane Society Bird Room, Henry Vilas Zoo and the UW Vet School.
