About Us

Madison-Obihiro Sister Cities was officially
established in December 2003. We are
certified as a licensed charitable organization
by the State of Wisconsin's Department of
Regulation and Licensing (No. 8746-800).
We are a nonprofit organization, not affiliated with
any religious, political, or government group.

The mission of Madison-Obihiro Sister Cities, Inc. is to:

further understanding, acceptance, and appreciation
of cultural, educational, and other civic
considerations in and about the City of Madison,
Wisconsin, and Obihiro City, Japan;

encourage the development of strong and cordial
relationships between residents of both sister
cities; and

encourage personal, professional, and other
exchanges between elected officials and general
citizentry of the two cities.
