Madison Gem and Mineral Club

The Club will hold the 49th Annual Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show on Saturday, Nov 21, 9:30-5:00 and Sunday, Nov 22 10:00-5:00, at the usual location, the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center. The hall is located at 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, on John Nolen Drive off the Beltline, next to the Coliseum. Admission is $3 for adults, $7 for families, children 12 and under free!

See arrowheads being made, flintknapping and rock carving. Pan for gold and sapphires. More than a dozen vendors will feature jewelry, fossils, rock specimens, beads and more.

Show Chairman Nevin Franke reports everything is ready to go. Set-up will commence Friday at noon, and tear down will commence with the termination of the show Sunday at 5 pm.

Members wishing to consign material should have ALL their materials clearly marked, the consignment form (available from Nevin) completed, and the consigned material delivered to the show on Friday during set-up. Thereafter, consignments will only be accepted on a space-available basis.

Anyone able to display a yard sign (these need to be on private property ONLY and NOT public right-of-way) can obtain signs from Scot Moss, Nevin Franke, or Alan Vonderohe.

Whether you are exhibiting or not, do plan to attend. There is always a lot to see and learn from the many dealers and hobbyists.

As usual we will stuff grab bags at the Board Meeting on Nov 3rd. Nevin can also still use a few volunteers for show tasks.
