The United Juniors continue to get results as they attempt to win the 2nd Division Championship in their first season in the Madison Soccer Association league. This past Saturday, the Juniors pulled back from being one goal down to win 3-1 against Madison 02 and on Sunday, Prima FC forfeited the game to leave the United Juniors one point behind AFC Metro but with one game in hand. Also on Sunday at Reddan Park the United Open team tied Deportivo 0-0. This result leaves them 5 points behind the Madison Fire with one game in hand. United Open team plays Traditional on Wednesday of this week and the Juniors play AFC Metro on Thursday. Last Wednesday evening the United O40 team got off to a slow start... with only 7 players at the kickoff but secured a comfortable 7-0 win over the Draft House at Reddan Park. This week the O40 have a tough game against Oregon SC, kicking off at 6:15pm at Reddan Park. In other news... In 2003, United Soccer Club lost one of it's most respected players. Stuart Daily passed away, on the rugby field after playing for the Wisconsin Rugby Club, a division of Wisconsin United Athletic Club. To honor Stuart, the WRC hold a golf outing every year... here are the details: "The 5th Annual Stuart Daily Golf Outing will take place on Friday August 8th at the Bridges Golf Course in Madison, WI. We will have a shotgun start at 12 noon. The format will be 4-person best ball! There will be both men and women fun events. The cost is $110/player. All money will go to support Stuart Daily Seeds of Learning Fund. Please pass this info on to others golf fans. Also, on Saturday August 9th, the Wisconsin Rugby Club will be hosting the 5th Annual Stuart Daily 10's Tournament. Featuring men and women divisions and possibly a high school division." Cheers!
