Memorial Mile
Date: 5/23/2009
Through: 5/30/2009


For the second year is a row the Madison Veterans for Peace is placing tombstone replicas in Forest Hill Cemetery along Speedway Rd. on Madison's near west side.

We will start the set up this Saturday, May 23rd, at 9 AM. We need 50 volunteers. Bring work gloves. Saturday, May 30th, starting at 4 PM we will take down the tombstones. Can you help us these days?

Memorial Day Event
Date: 5/25/2009
JAMES MADISON PARK 302 E. GORHAM ST. ON LAKE MENDOTA 1 TO 2:30 PM sponsored by Vets for Peace, Madison.

Lee Rayburn will MC. Keynote speaker will be Dr. Sahar Shafqat from St. Mary's College in Maryland and founding member of Action for a Progressive Pakistan. She will speak on "Is Peace Possible in Afghanistan and Pakistan?"

Music by the Madison folk group "Old Cool." Audience members will be invited to read the names of WI soldiers killed in the wars.

June Monthly Meeting
Date: 6/17/2009
