About Us

Overeaters Anonymous is a Twelve-Step program patterned after Alcoholics Anonymous. Like AA, the OA program offers physical, emotional and spiritual recovery for those suffering from eating disorders. Most people are unaware that Madison area OA groups have been helping overeaters recover for more than 30 years.

The Madison OA Fellowship currently has 14 meetings. They are located in Madison and in nearby towns such as McFarland, Fitchburg, Janesville and Dodgeville.

The only requirement for membership in OA is a desire to stop eating compulsively. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology or religious doctrine and takes no position on outside issues. There are no membership dues or fees for participation in OA. The organization is self-supporting through members' voluntary contributions and the sale of OA literature.

Always to extend the hand and heart of OA to all who share my compulsion; for this I am responsible.
