MAPPAR the nonprofit animal sanctuary which has taken in and cared for homeless, abused, and neglected domestic and farm animals of the Midwest for the past 5 years is in jeopardy of loosing its sanctuary. Since 1996 MAPPAR has been acting as a safe house and a resource for people and animals until permanent forever homes could be found. MAPPAR will not be able to continue its sanctuary work, and the sanctuary animals will need to be re-homed again if MAPPAR is unable to raise enough money to keep the sanctuary going. ($175,000).

MAPPAR has operated on a shoe string budget for over 5 years, has a small donor base, little time to fundraise and grant write with its only 2 part-time volunteers to oversee adoptions and day-to-day care. MAPPAR is committed to ensuring all its current residents will be re-homed in better funded and better housing. If MAPPAR is unable to raise the $175,000 to keep its residents at its current location, MAPPAR will need to raise $10,000 minimum to re-home and transport the residents to other sanctuaries across the country.

MAPPAR is located on 10 acres in Pardeeville, WI. Since opening its farm and domestic animal sanctuary in 2000, it has saved the lives of 1000s of farm and domestic animals, directly (by providing care for) and indirectly (as a resource for its many programs like re-homing and spay/neuter). Today, 35 animals reside there, including cats, dogs, farm pigs, potbellied pigs, ponies, a horse, a donkey/mule, and a sheep. It is supported entirely by tax-deductible donations from private citizens and organizations, and mostly funded by its 2 caretakers/volunteers.

MAPPAR is a non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to the well being of all animals. You and your business can help us help these animals by donating, volunteering, adopting or sponsoring the shelter animals at: www.mappar.org or by sending a donation to: MAPPAR, W6591 CTH P, Pardeeville, WI 53954.

All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. No gift is too large or too small. Whatever you can spare as an extra gift will help, and remember the animals appreciate your generosity!

Below are some photos of the animals from our volunteer photographer, Paws 4 Animals (which donates all its proceeds to benefit the MAPPAR animals).
