Madison Area Retiree Golf Association (MARGA)

About Us

MARGA was started in 1978 by a group of retired Madison-area men who wanted to play golf with each other on a scheduled basis. We are still going.

Currently, MARGA has 7 morning leagues at all four Madison City Golf Courses (Glenway, Monona, Odana and Yahara Hills)(See League Schedule article). With longstanding relationships with the golf professionals at these courses, we look forward to years of enjoyment ahead.

Key Points:

• 9 & 18 hole leagues
• No age limit ? even youngsters 55-60 can join
• We welcome golfers of all skill levels from single digit handicaps on up
• MARGA uses its own handicap system -- our weekly prizes are based on MARGA handicaps

• Leagues play each week from late April/early May for 16 weeks
• Two additional Outings are held each year at area courses (See Events)
• End of season awards luncheon in late September
• We offer lasting friendships, wonderful golf and great exercise at a very reasonable price (see Fees Article)
