[Editor’s note: Word from
Erin Conrad is that the delegation is doing fine.]
I was in contact with Herb
Kohl's office in Milwaukee
this morning and his staffer didn't believe that Senator Kohl would want to get
involved in this situation. He also no
longer has e-mail and people must contact him through his web site. She did believe that we should be calling the
Salvadoran Embassy in D.C. Here are the
contact numbers:
D.C. Embassy - 202-265-9671
(or 9672) e-mail: correo@elsalvador.org
Chicago Embassy - 312-332-1393 or 312-578-5390
Please do what is being
asked by the Sister Cities network. This
is a very serious situation and our family's contacts in Salvador say it reminds them of the situation
before the war. I hope to hear from my
daughter, Erin Conrad, today. She is in El Salvador up in the mountains with a
delegation of high school students and parents from Madison.
She cannot get involved at this point, because her delegation must be
protected. I know she would want all of us
to send those e-mails and call as many contacts as we can.
Thank you for whatever you
feel you can do.
Pam
