Director's Message - Dec 2003
Excerpts
Erv Carpenter, Director
32ð Madison Masonic Learning Center for Children, Inc |
On Nov. 17th, Erv Carpenter and Sara Pace met with an interested parent and discussed specific ideas on how to organize the Parent Alumni Committee. It was decided that a Parent Support Group should first be set-up. The learning center will be sending all parents and alumni parents a survey to determine interest level and the amount of time they can commit to the support group. The goal of the Parent Support Group is to build a bond within our community to encourage, support, help, and expedite the advocacy of individuals dealing with the issues of Dyslexia. It was also decided that the first task the group will undertake is the Giving Tree project.
The Madison Scottish Rite and Commonwealth Lodge No. 325 have invited the students, parents, families and staff of the Learning Center to be their guests at the annual Family Life Christmas Party on Friday Dec. 12th. Their generosity is allowing many of the students and their family to attend their only Christmas party of the season. One mother summarized it for all of us when she said, "it is the only time all year that my children can share their experiences of a party with their friends who go to parties all year long. Bless you and all of the Masons for everything you do all year long for the children and the families you help through the Learning Center."
