McFarland's sesquicentennial year was a great success. Colorful banners, photo exhibits, walking tours, author presentations, music, the library dedication, historical exhibits, and the July 2 birthday party, complete with train rides, helped to make the 150th anniversary a celebration never to forget. In order for the year-long celebration to succeed, many people, businesses and organizations were recruited for assistance with planning, finances and/or labor. The 150th anniversary was, indeed, a community-wide event. The sesquicentennial celebration was made possible by and through the generous spirit of the following in our community: McFarland Historical Society, Village of McFarland, Jean and Rick Duchrow, Barbara and John Obst, Angela and Joe Schwartz, Peg Winkler, Don Peterson, Pat and Will Rossman, Angela Try, Dale Marsden, Jim Hickey, Sharon Larson, Larry Grenzow, Lauren Meyer, Andrew Schwartz, Deb Neal, Linda Cherubini, Ken Machtan, Patrick Miles, Alan Colville, McFarland Public Works Dept., E.D.
