KEY CLUB
Middleton Kiwanis sponsors a Key Club at the Middleton High School. Key clubs are designed to involve high school students in service to their community. Following are the objectives of Key Club as published by Kiwanis International. Objectives:
- Develop initiative and leadership.
- Provide experience in living and working together.
- Serve the school and community.
- Cooperate with the school principal.
- Prepare for useful citizenship.
- Accept and promote the following ideals:
- To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life.
- To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
- To promote the adoption and application of higher standards in scholarship, sportsmanship, and social contacts.
- To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
- To provide a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render unselfish service, and to build better communities.
- To cooperate in creating and maintaining the sound public opinion and high idealism which makes possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and good will.
We are extremely proud to be associated with these young people. While Kiwanis sponsors and assists the Key Club, they are self-governing and self-supporting. The Middleton Club is very successful in every way.
Builder's Club
Builders Clubs were intended by Kiwanis International
to afford Middle School youth the opportunity to become involved in service to their community Many young people believe in the idea of service. They welcome the chance to make a personal contribution to their school, community, and peers. Builders Club offers such opportunities to middle school-aged students. Its goal is to develop leadership qualities in young people through experiences in volunteer community service. As the motto "We Build" indicates, Builders Club is for young people who want to take positive, constructive action to build a better world for themselves and others. Builders Club members experience the thrill of accomplishment and the satisfaction of knowing their efforts make a difference for those they help.
The Objects of Builders Club explain it best: To:
- Provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community.
- Develop leadership potential.
- To foster the development of strong moral character.
- To encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation.
Middleton Kiwanis sponsors a Builder's Club at Kromrey Middle School in Middleton. This club is proving to be very successful.
