About the Free Promotional Ads

In order to thank you for your involvement in the Community Pages, the Wisconsin State Journal and The Capital Times run large bi-monthly advertisements in their weekend papers to give your organization free publicity. The mid-month ad highlights new Community Pages member sites that have been published in the past month. The end-of-the-month ad lists events posted on member sites for the upcoming month. To make sure your organization is included in these advertisements, please take note of the monthly deadlines and guidelines below. The full-page ads will run in the Saturday Capital Times and Sunday Wisconsin State Journal.

Upcoming Deadlines

General Guidelines:

In order to be included in these free promotional advertisements, you must have a "live" Community Page. A live site means that your Community Page has been published, or made accessible to the public eye. Only those sites posted under one or more of the categories found on the Community Pages Home Page have been published and are live.

If you have added information to your site, but cannot find it on the Community Pages Home Page, it is NOT live. Please contact the moderator, who will gladly publish your site if there is substantial and appropriate content. Your site will need to be checked over and any necessary changes made before publishing the site. Please allow both yourself and the moderator sufficient time before the deadline to make site corrections.

Once your Community Page is live, you need to make sure the information on your site is up-to-date and accurate by the deadlines above. Please see the ad-specific guidelines mentioned below to ensure the proper information is printed in the advertisements.

Guidelines for the New Members Advertisement:

If your organization's Community Page is live by the deadline above, it will automatically be included in the mid-month ad announcing new members (in The Capital Times and the Wisconsin State Journal).

The ad will feature your organization's name as it appears on the Community Pages Home Page, under the categorical and alphabetical listings. If corrections or changes are needed, please contact the moderator by the deadline above.

New Guidelines for the Calendar of Events Advertisement:

NEW GUIDELINES: Due to the rapidly increasing number of member organizations, we have been pushing the limits of our allotted ad space.

We are looking into securing more ad space, but in the meantime our free monthly calendar ads will be geared toward the following new guidelines.

These guidelines are designed to make the newspaper ad a more effective and eye-catching tool to help direct traffic toward member Community Pages.
