About Us
The Wisconsin Multiple Myeloma Support Group was formed in September of 1999. Our goal was to provide an opportunity for patients and loved ones to share information, particularly about treatments and responses to treatments. Meetings have been held monthly since the group was formed. Each meeting lasts two hours, speakers participate approximately every other month. In alternate months, we have group discussion, an updating of individual treatments for those that wish to do so, answering questions that arise, and the opportunity to realize others are sharing the same problems and successes.
We publish a monthly newsletter that is sent about one week to ten days prior to each meeting. The newsletter is brief, lists meeting reminders, provides a listing of available resources, and provides notes on new research information. The newsletter is distributed by email and regular mail. Whenever possible we ask that interested persons provide an email address to receive the newsletter to reduce mailing costs.
There is no charge for participating in the meetings and/or receiving the newsletter. |
