Where to Get Compost

Sources for Northsiders

You can get compost from the Dane County Westport site on Highway 19 (just east of Waunakee), (608) 267-1502. It makes a great fertilizer and helps remedy soil compaction. They are open M-F 8-3:30. The compost is free and can be shoveled by hand into buckets, tarp or whatever you have. If you have a truck they will dump the compost into it for you, and then you can pick from either free compost or screened compost ($10). The organic lawn services in our list will also go and get it for you.

Also organic compost is available for delivery only from:

West Madison Agricultural Research Station
8502 Mineral Point Rd, Verona, WI 53593
Phone: (608) 262-2257
