When they are established in late April, we will list the contacts of the various committees on this page.

Each committee elects a lead person, or chair, who serves on the Executive Board.

Committee Chair E-mail Phone
Recruitment and Registration Committee
Organize and carry out yearly recruitment and registration of gardeners, assign plots, and manage waiting list. Most of this work is done by returning gardeners before registration day.
Grounds Committee
Arrange for compost delivery, do plot layout, collect and maintain community tools, maintain water system, ensure accessibility for people with disabilities and the elderly, make and maintain paths between the plots, general grounds maintenance, suggest ideas for grounds improvement to the Executive Board. Serve as liaison to the Quann dog-walkers group. There is an overall chair, and seven different people will be responsible for each month, April through October.
Monitoring Committee
Advise the Executive Board on making new rules, enforce the rules when necessary, twice annual plot review.
Communications Committee
Pass on information from executive board meetings (and other sources) that concerns gardeners. This includes news, decisions, events, meetings, and opportunities. Use mail, e-mail, phone, the web, the bulletin boards, and/or smoke signals. Make news releases if necessary. Work closely with translators.
Spanish Translation Committee
Work with all other committees, especially Communications, to communicate with those who speak Spanish.
Hmong Translation Committee
Work with all other committees, especially Communications, to communicate with those who speak Hmong.
Education/Social Committee
Organize educational workshops and provide information (perhaps through the website) for gardeners on topics of general interest, especially organic gardening methods. Help connect new gardeners with experienced gardeners. Set up the social gathering spot. Organize at least one annual fun gathering.
Anti-Pilfering Committee
Come up with creative ways to discourage theft and vandalism in the garden. This could take many forms like picture IDs, a fence around the garden, a garden watch program, a free produce table outside the garden, educating people about produce that's likely to be taken, having someone keep an eye on plots when people are out of town, encouraging gardeners to know many other gardeners, educating people about what to do if someone is stealing, and more signage. Work with police and other neighborhood leaders for other ideas.
Jessica Bullen Orchard and Quiet Garden Committee
Develop an orchard to honor our former treasurer, the late Jess Bullen.
Treasurer
Handle revenue and expenses. Representative required to be at registration, must have at least two names on the checking account, fundraising, advise the board on the garden's ability to make purchases.
