Our next Table Reading will be from 2pm until about 4pm on Sunday June 8th in the either the Capitol Room or the Wingra Room at Oak Park Place in Madison. A notice will be posted at the entrance indicating where we are. We will be reading XàMinus 1 "CHAIN OF COMMAND" from November 21, 1956 . We will also be reading Fibber McGee and Molly "Black-Market Meat" from April 27, 1943. If time permits we will also be reading original commercials for "Everwed Bonding Agent" and "Ma's awful soft apple sauce". Please print your own scripts and bring them with you. It is impossible for us to provide enough printed scripts for all those who attend. Table Readings are, as the name implies, a time when we get together to read over scripts. This is often a very relaxed and informal time usually held the first week of every month. This is a time to try new voices and personifications etc.
Table Readings are held monthly to allow Radio Active! members to experiment with various roles in scripts from radio's Golden Age. It's also a way for Radio Active! to help pick scripts for upcoming performances. Table Readings are open to the public. We're setting up Production Teams; to find out more send us an email Radio Active! is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to recreating the sights and sounds of network dramas and comedies from radio's Golden Age.
