Rock County Historical Society

Collections

The Rock County Historical Society actively collects, preserves, interprets, and exhibits Rock County's material culture. The Historical Society maintains a collection consisting of over 40,000 artifacts that relate to Rock County's past. A variety of prehistoric and historic objects within the collection provides a glimpse into the county's unique history and helps us prepare for the future.

The RCHS collections include:

• Pauline Pottery (along with other Edgerton potteries)
• Samson Truck and Tractor
• Parker Pens
• Tallman & Collins Perfume
• 75% Original furnishings to the Tallman House
• Civil War and other military artifacts
• Horse-drawn vehicles made by the Wisconsin Carriage Company
• Extensive Victorian Era textiles collection
• Locally produced furniture
• Historic Architectural elements from throughout the county
• Paintings by local artists
• Various personal artifacts along with items made and/or used by local manufacturers, businesses, churches, and other organizations
