Adopting Internationally
Date: 1/05/2005

Aimee Klundt will speak about the basic process involved with international adoption. She will go over the questions involving adoption: fees, how long it takes, paperwork, and qualifications needed to adopt. She will explain the process in the different countries and the variation between them. She will speak about the constant changes that arise when dealing with foreign adoptions. She will also bring handouts to better explain some of the topics of her discussion.

About Aimee Klundt:

Mrs. Klundt’s desire to help the children left behind in the orphanages, following the adoption of her daughter Anya, became her mission. Since 1999, she has dedicated herself to this goal and has served as the organization’s executive director. Mrs. Klundt is in charge of the daily operations of the organization. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and is currently working on her Master’s degree in social work at the University.

The Impact of Infertility on Couples
Date: 2/05/2005

Going through infertility can present challenges and opportunities for intimate relationships. Couples need to be able to make decisions in agreement, envision short and long term outcome possibilities, support each other through medical procedures, and handle numerous cycles of hope and disappointment. We will discuss some common experiences couples have and how to strengthen your relationship in the face of this life challenge.

Our speaker, Tamar Kelson, a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of psychological concerns related to fertility challenges. She developed the Coping Well During Infertility Program, which helps couples and individuals undergoing medical testing and treatment with psychological aspects of decision making, communication, mind-body techniques for stress reduction, and coping with inevitable ups and downs.

Questions and Answers with the Infertility Doctor
Date: 3/02/2005

Dr. Lindeim will hold a Question and Answer Open Forum for any and all questions you might have. He can address questions like: Should I go to IVF right away? Do I have PCOS? I have cancer; can I get pregnant? He’ll talk about: endometriosis, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, uterine artery embolization, the “hairiest clinical scenarios I have been in,” and any other topic you have questions about.

Dr. Lindheim is a Reproductive Endocrinologist with the UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison. He is also the Director of Third Party Reproduction there, and an Associate Professor. Dr. Lindheim graduated medical school at Temple University, and completed his Internship and Residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. He completed his Fellowship at the Women’s Hospital, LAC/USC Medical Center in Los Angeles.
