Education, Advocacy & Support for those dealing with infertility | |
|
For hints on how to communicate with your legislator please review contacting a legislator. Learn more about how a bill becomes a law. We currently do not have an Advocacy Committee due to lack of volunteers. We are committed to advocacy and would welcome any volunteers interested in helping us. Please review the volunteer section. The Wisconsin Chapter of RESOLVE is committed to the organizational objective of taking action to shape public discussion in a manner that fosters genuine understanding of infertility and adoption related issues and supporting specific legislative or other legal developments consistent with the interests of our membership. Our Advocacy Committee seeks to pursue these objectives on an ongoing basis at the state level. This web site, and its links, will provide information regarding efforts at the state level. You may also subscribe to our advocacy email distribution list by following the instructions at the right. The most current information available on this web site will always be found in the Advocacy Committee's latest email update to that list. Coordination of advocacy efforts concerning discourse and legal developments at the federal level is a function of RESOLVE's national organization, not of our local chapter. For information regarding national efforts, please visit National RESOLVE and/or subscribe to the national advocacy email distribution list by following the directions on the national web site. The Advocacy Committee intends to broaden its mission from things like specific pieces of legislation to more general public relations efforts and attempts to maximize Resolve's media exposure through any and all available means. For example,we would like to establish some simple mechanisms for submitting public service announcements or other free media sound bites on a regular basis to remind individuals experiencing infertility that they are not alone and that RESOLVE is here to provide support. The Committee also plans to coordinate an appropriate level of organizational support in relation to current legislative developments. The Advocacy Committee is comprised entirely of volunteers. Thus, in order to meaningfully and regularly engage in public discussion, confront false ideas about infertility, and develop some sense of public empathy or sympathy with what we have gone through or are going through as people who have experienced or are experiencing infertility, we need your help. Without volunteers, our goals simply can't be accomplished. If you are interested in helping with advocacy in any way (whether by serving on the Advocacy Committee itself, or by volunteering in some other way), please contact the Advocacy Committee by writing an email to: advocate@resolvewi.org. |
