Hello again from our busy household. At our last SAA meeting, we brainstormed ways to reach out to those really needing our help to spay/neuter. Well, it has worked! (I keep telling others how the Lord has blessed SAA with wonderful hard workers.) The first 30 days of the spay/neuter push saw 20 applications come in to our home. One applicant came to our door with her adorable dog as she didn't have a picture to send. What a delight. Our Boomer Fund is working in the red due to the economy slump, but we also see the Lord provides. Our desire this spring is to cut down on the unwanted kitten population. We read in the Tree House newsletter that more than three million cats enter shelters every year. Even sadder, is that pregnant cats are the first to be euthanized when room is needed for more animals. Please educate to spay/neuter by six months. We have personal information of a "kitten" under five months that was pregnant. That was unusual, but can happen. We also emphasize to dog fanciers who want a purebred to check out the many breed rescues. Never buy from a pet store or a breeder that you can't personalize investigate. I sign off with this prayer written by D. Susan Rutz: "Father, thank You for the gentle love of our furry friends. Thank You for creating these soft, devoted creatures who desire only to be loved and to give love. May we open our hearts to them and learn how to love as unconditionally as they do. Amen." I always say, you honor God and God will honor you. Thanks for visiting our Web site. Kathy Thode, President |
